Folks, I'm not a tech or know the first thing about what it takes to put this Okopipi project together to get it off the ground. I was briefly with Blue Frog before the crash. That was a while back as you well know. The only thing I have in common with people here is our mutual hatred of SPAM.
Some of you may have heard about SPAMfighter, and some of you may be using it. I just started using it today. So far it's working pretty good. The reason for the post is to get other people involved with this product while the Okopipi tech people get their act together. And who knows when that will be. Here's a link to the SPAMfighter site:
http://www.spamfighter.com/
Check it out. And if you like it, pass it on. Since Blue Frog was taken out there's been nothing to replace it. What do you have to lose except more SPAM!
Re: SPAM SOFTWARE I JUST FOUND
Dead and buried!
Re: SPAM SOFTWARE I JUST FOUND
i think this okopipi project is a whole crap. i have a feeling that this is project has been sold to spammers, in order to delay the progress of anti-spam community.
Re: SPAM SOFTWARE I JUST FOUND
This project is dead. I don't think it was sold to spammers I think its been run by spammers from the beginning. No work has ever been done on it. Just a bunch of wasted time. I'm glad I didn't waste mine. I WANT MY BLUEFROG BACK!!!
Re: Okopipi dead!
So I take it that Okopipi is dead... may it rest in peace (pieces)...
I've seen it coming for more than a year...
Now we can only hope that someone really capable will pick up the Blue Frog idea and make something out of it that works and is stable against attacks...
allesok
Re: SPAM SOFTWARE I JUST FOUND

Yes the pen may be mightier than the sword, But if you have millions of swords running toward you it might be time to fight back with something a little stronger.
Wish They Used * ThunderBird * As Well..!!
Thankyou " Cyco " ...
I dunno about anyone else, but not all people use "Outlook or Outlook-Express" for their eMail client, because I Don't.!! - Each of us have their own personal choice, & using Micro$oft products are not my thing where possible.!!
Anyway ...
I also use ThunderBird as my eMail client, some use IncrediMail, it doesn't matter, I want a "StandAlone" program not restricting it to just eMail-Clients, but using more than 1 type of "Generic" email system & spreading the flexibility or more options than Micro$oft products.!!
I'll give it a go ... What The Hell ... It can't hurt, I just want the Spam GONE.!! - But in the meantime, I use "SpamArrest" ... Usless.!! - My account expires in 2-months, (Thank God), then I'll B looking around again.!!
- Is their anything really out there that WORKS.?? - I Dunno.??
- But we're ALL searching, & so far, OKOPIPI hasn't come up with the goods.??
- Are they really serious about getting this Off The Ground.?? - Hmmmmmm.??
Re: Wish They Used * ThunderBird * As Well..!!
Gmail has a really good spam filter, I only get about one spam email through the filter every few months. You can also report your spam to SpamCop and KnujOn (optionally with the KnujOn Thunderbird extension, it will eventually decrease.
Well, SPAMfighter is a good
Well, SPAMfighter is a good tool for users using Outlook or Outlook Express (otherwise I did not do the translation into German). But it does'nt work with other mail clients like Thunderbird.
Re: Well, SPAMfighter is a good
neither of these things have ever effected the amount of spam i get. I call shenanigans on this whole forum
Shenanigans !
Shenanigans!! Shenanigans!!
Okopipi was a good idea...! Really!
But just like the file sharing pirates, it should have been a distributed application so we could all annoy spammers and it would be something that they could not defeate easily. Of course, they might just take down all or part of the Internet to spite us... but maybe that would be worth it...??? I dunno.
I have two ideas for spam. One to fight it and a second to stop it for one and for all [Seriously!]:
1) Get a copy of HTTrack Website copier. Set up a job that saves things into a folder called junk. Whenever you have time, save the URLs used by spammers (not at free hosting sites, only spammer-hosted sites). Paste them into the program and use it to make a copy of each site. When done, you can delete the folder. If enough people did this it would cause massive amounts of bandwidth to be used and either cause a DOS condition or cost them money to pay for the bandwith.
2)I won't describe it here, but I have come up with what is a mostly original idea (check out Zoemail.com, it's like my idea) that should be easy to use, low-cost/free, and 100% effective at controlling spam. It's a simple idea and just needs to be simple to use.

Have you ever heard of an elepheel or a tigodile?
